Welcome to the Site!
Chances are, if you found this site, you are interested in a fox as a pet. Perhaps it is their soft fur, pointed nose, fluffy tails, or even their cunning personalities, but something drew you here.
Now I would like to firstly offer a word to the wise before you get started: If you are the average person out there, most likely a fox is NOT for you. Most people do not have the time, as foxes need constant correction, supervision, and training, and most of all, socialization. And not to put too fine a point on it, but there are many dogs in shelters I would recommend first before getting a fox.
That being said, foxes can be wonderful pets. Foxes range from 2-17 pounds on average, and most foxes can be friendly if trained right ... However their wild instincts make them a handful. With the exception of the Russian Farm Experiment foxes, almost all foxes will require you to gain their trust first. They are very playful, especially during youth, and need to be exercised or have an outdoor enclosure. They occasionally imprint, becoming great pets, or become a one-person fox - meaning that a 'babysitter' is not a good idea, and you can kiss those vacations away from your pet goodbye. For the first few years of their life, almost 24 hour correction is needed if you intend to keep them as a pet. I would highly recommend reading the READ ME outline page, so you know what you are getting yourself into before looking for breeders.
Our goal here at Faithful Foxes is to educate and guide you through learning about these unique creatures, and if you have the time, energy, and most importantly, patience, for a fox, then read on. If you have an emergency and need help with a fox you already have, please contact us and we will either personally help you or put you in contact with people who can help.
